Summer is...

On a more negative note, summer is also having a mosquito flying around your ear at five in the morning; This is what happened to me today. I eventually got up and sent it to it’s maker, then its friend comes along. Not nice and very annoying.

We don’t normally have much of a mosquito problem as we keep the windows closed as much as possible in the evening, but even one is too many for me, so tonight it’s zanzara war!

I hate mosquitos, especially those pesky tiger mosquitos who fly and bite during the day but I bought a Vape liquido and lived in peace-for a few days until the bottle ran out at least.

I've got the plug in which you put tabs in. Last night it worked, but I have my doubts that they're that effective. I might have just been lucky. I should try a liquid one too.

We have screens, but every so often a really clever one succeeds in coming through the door. Here they like to wait in ambush in the bathroom.

I once stayed for a few days in a hotel in Padova with a serious zanzare problem. I even bought one of the little hot plates you put the tabs on, but they just laughed at it. I finally checked out at 4:30AM the last day because I preferred to wait a few hours at the train station rather than continue to listen to the constant buzzing. Beastly creatures.

I hate mosquitos and I'm grateful where I live now there aren't any.

I'm kind of scared of using those plug in chemical things and have been meaning to go to Leroy Merlin for some screens. But sans car it's a bit of a trek and I keep procrastinating.

Strangely, the worst place I've ever been for mosquitos was Sweden in the summer. They are actually worse in colder climates.

Oh man, flys are just as annoying! Especially the ones that you swat away from your face and they go right back to the same spot over and over and over again! Then of course, when they chose to buzz around my ear, it drives me insane! lol

KC I couldn't have stayed in that hotel either.

Nadine, you're lucky you don't have any where you are!

Kataroma, that's surprising that they're worse in colder climates. In England they are much of a problem at all.

Giulia and Nyc, agreed!

There's only one thing worse than zanzare - the wrong use of "it's" and "its" in a much-loved blog!
Sorry - frustrated EFL teacher who has no students for the summer!
