Summer is...

...White wine with peaches aka vino bianco con percoche.

For best results put the jug in the fridge for a few hours so that the peaches can soak in the wine and be chilled. If you haven't got time just leave them to soak for as long as you like - or even not at all. Drink the wine with your meal then eat the peaches out of the wine for dessert.

Percoche are the orange inside peaches - as seen in the photo - not the white variety. I'm not sure if the word "percoche" is a used only in Neapolitan or all over Italy. Che ne sacc.

Percocca is a fruit made using pesche + albicocche. They are available everywhere in Italy but are not so frequent.

I've never had vino biano con perecocce but I have had peaches soaked in chianti. They are really good so I'm sure peaches n white wine are great too.

On sacciu ma faccio sempre con le pesche ed il vino rosso. Purtroppo non mi piace il vino bianco...comunque la foto รจ bellissima!

Thanks Pola. Here they're very common during the summer.

J.doe, hmmm soaked in Chianti, that's a good idea. I don't think the peach thing should be done if the wine is too good though - that would be a shame.

Sognatrice, agg' capi'. Devo provare anche io con vino rosso. Grazie per i complimenti :)

I bet that's delicious. I've only ever had peaches with red wine. We have a few percoche in the fridge, I think I hear them calling out for some white wine!

Hmmm...I have some ripe peaches at home. Maybe I'll buy some white wine on the way home and try this out.

I've never heard of percocche. When we make macedonia we like to put a sort of vino marsalato on it, a sweet red wine that I can't think of the name of at the moment. Mixed with sugar, it makes a nice syrup for the fruit salad.

That looks so refreshing. Perfect for summer.

You do realize that the peaches soak up all the alcohol so and become extremely alcohol-concentrated. You can get drunk eating a couple of peaches.
