I've just finished watching the Diana concert. I really enjoyed it - lots of good acts. My faves were James Morrison, Lilly Allen (who was on her best behaviour), Rod Stewart, Elton, Take That for their "Back for Good" which always gets me singing along. I had a good sing-a-long to the musicals medley too "Jesus Christ! Superstar! La la la." I was surprised that Elton didn't do "Candle in the Wind." That song gives me goose bumps. Well done to the princes for organising it, Diana would have been proud.

I saw quite a bit of it on BBC America. My daughter linked Elton's earrings.
My husband and I watched what was shown on American TV NBC and thoroughly enjoyed it. wish we could have seen all of it.. The sons of Diana made everyone proud by hosting the benefit and I am sure Diana would think so,too. Is there anyway to obtain a CD, etc. of the event? Way to go, William and Harry-we are proud of you.
Gil, I can't really remember Elton's earrings. I was too distracted by his purple glasses with "EJ" diamond studded onto them.
Anonymous, luckily I was able to watch it all on Sky TV. I've not heard anything about a DVD being released but you can watch some clips on You Tube already.
I wanted to watch it...Dad phoned and said it was on live in 140 countries...but of course I couldn't find it on Italian terrestrial!
I really wanted to watch it too, though couldn't find it on any of our channels and had to put up with clips of it on Sky TV today!
Sky news that is, not Sky TV!
Not much use to you now, but it was on Sky Vivo. It was supposed to be online on the Sky site too but, well it wasn't. I'm just listening to Take That again on You Tube :)
I heard it was good. I'm glad you got to enjoy it.
I must get sky! I feel like I'm missing out on so much. :(
Elton said shortly after Diana's funeral that he would never perform that version of "Candle in the Wind" in public, ever again.
I love Sky! My life sucked before it. I only caught a few minutes of the concert because we were out of town, but I'm sure there will be re-runs. I love Lily Allen, listening to her music reminds me of walking around London!
Becs, I didn’t know that Elton had said that. Now I understand why he didn’t play it. That’s very respectful of him.
Kataroma, you have to get Sky! I agree with Jessica, once you’ve got it there’s no going back. Just get the basic package, that’s all you need (IMO). The other day we hooked it up in the kitchen too as I couldn’t put up with watching anymore game shows over dinner.
So - how much of the SKY programming is in English - I can't stand watching things which are dubbed into Italian! And can you get all the shows which people are always talking about - like House or Lost - in ENGLISH?
We were kind of thinking of getting Dutch SKY (OH is Dutch) as most of Dutch TV is in English with Dutch subtitles, you can get BBC from across the channel and OH will be able to watch Dutch football (woo hoo!) but it's kind of a hassle. Hmmm...
Diana would be so proud of her boys.
Kataroma, most programs are available in original lingo. Occasionally a program won't go into original lang, but not that often. there's Lost in Eng, though I don't watch it so I can't tell you much more. I've never heard of House, but if it's popular enough it should come on. I like Sky becasue even though I'm not glued to it, there's always something watchable - even if it's just the news or Friends re-runs. No more watching cabaret tv.
If you look here you'll get an idea of the entertainment channels - in the basic package.

Hello Delina... I can understand the language problem... but, in Italy there are a lots of non "cabaret" series like (just as a non exaustive example) BallarĂ², Santoro series, La7 series etc. etc. :)))))) (Maybe, could be even cabaret from your point of view :>
Ciao!
