Happy Festa delle Donne

Happy Women's Day for all of those wishing to celebrate!

Here's a photo of a Mimosa tree from nearby. I took the (not very good) photo a few weeks ago when the tree was in full bloom.

The "mimosa" tree is none other than the Australian national flower the wattle in disguise! I always get a little nationalistic thrill that an iconic native Australian plant has made it so big over here. :) But no one here seems to know that the "mimosa" is actually just good old Australian wattle.

We went to Villa Torlonia yesterday - a park and museum we hadn't been to yet (you guessed it - we have a guest). Anyway, entry to all museums in Rome was free for women yesterday - such a nice gift for me and the (female) foetus!

Happy International Women's Day!

Kataroma, I didn't know it was the Aussie national flower. Have you seen the Mimosa cakes too? Wonder if they have those in Oz..

Happy Women's day to you + little one on her way :)
