Today is Pasquetta, aka Easter Monday, so I and most of Naples went off for a little gita. Lots of people take picnics to use up the leftovers from yesterday's feast, but we just just went out for a few hours in the morning so that we'd avoid the crowds and the traffic coming back at least.
We went to Amalfi. It was a beautiful day and people were on the beach and in the sea already! We didn't stop for long as it was so busy, not easy to park etc. Lots of vigile were giving parking tickets out too - no Easter spirit there.
We noticed that very few people wore seatbelts in Amalfi...Even a man who stopped to a police man for directions was without seatbelt. Gasp!
The first photo below was taken on our way there. The black and green nets are used to cover the lemons. I'm not exactly sure why, but something to do with the amount of light they receive I think.

ooh won't Annika be jealous of you!
You picked the worst day of the year to go though, Pasquetta and Ferragosto on the Amalfi coast is something to be endured not enjoyed!
belle foto!!
Yeah, it was busy Nicki, we still had a nice drive out though.
Thanks nyc/caribbean ragazza!
I stumbled upon your blog a while ago and just wanted to finally leave a comment to tell you that the pictures are beautiful and you are so lucky to be living in Napoli! Everyone in my family (both in the U.S. and Italy) think I'm crazy for loving Napoli the way I do, but - really, it's a gorgeous place and the people are so unique.
Looking forward to more stories about living there. :)
Those pictures are breath taking. You live in such a beautiful place.
I am glad you had a nice drive. I just *heart* Amalfi, which Peppe says I pronounce AMAOUFI...either way it is a beautiful place, isn't it?
Thanks for stopping by Stinni! It's true that Naples can bring out *so* many emotions in a person!
Nadine and Cherrye, yes Amalfi is very beautiful. I'm lucky that I can be there in less than an hour - or a bit longer on holiday weekends :)

Oh man, I wish we had brought leftovers! Nope, we had to go all out and bring so much food with us, to grill. It was fun. I don't plan on eating like that again until Christmas! I love the Amalfi coast. Maybe we'll go there next year. Great pics. :)
I can't believe I didn't comment on this before, when I shamelessly stole one of your photos for my desktop! Yes I'm jealous, but not as much as usual because I know that one week from now I will be in Amalfi myself! I just hope that the road won't be as crowded then...
Beautiful pics yet again! I *heart* Italy! :-D
