Snow 'ncopp o' Vesuvio

It's the first day of Spring today, and ironically I woke up to a white Naples. Brrr! It was more like hailstone rather than snow though.

There's lots of snow on the top of Vesuvius today. Here's a photo, I was hoping it would come out better, but alas, no. I took it with my phone you see. It's rare to see snow on Vesuvius and when you do you know it's *cold*!

I've never seen that much snow on Vesuvius. It's beautiful!

Love the title spelled the Napolitan way! ;)
I posted some photos on my blog today of the snow covered mountains in my back yard. If I had taken the photos a bit earlier, it would have shown that there was a lot more snow. Looks like we've been hit with the same weather. Brrrrrr

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind words.

I love the picture...it was cold where I was but no snow. Spring started on Monday here in WA state.

Please tell me that it'll warm up in the next four weeks! While I don't go to Italy to lie on the beach, I'd rather not have SNOW in Italy either. I've had enough of that here!

Then again, last year during my weekend getaway it was 12 C, grey and windy in Toscana and here it was 25 C and sunny. Irony, sweet irony.

I saw that shot on the "L'Ansa web site. Makes me wish I were there.

That is amazing. I would like to be up there on the vulcano.
Wait, if you have hail now that means it will be here in a few hours. I can see some dark clouds already!

Ha! Last year I remember madly driving around Sorrento trying to get a good view of the snowy top of Vesuvius to put a photo on my blog. TracieB was doing the same thing at the same time from Naples. I wonder how snowy it is up Monte Faito? SHall I go or do you want to?

There's still snow today, a bit less though.

Nicki, you can do the Monte Fajita (haha) shots.

Annika, I'm sure it will warm up again for your trip. Last week it was hitting 20 degrees C.
