I can't believe it, my favourite store Marks and Spencers now delivers overseas! From the site: "We deliver to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, Spain and the United States." ...Note no Italy on the list. Darn. Why could that be? Er, maybe because when you're expecting a parcel here you never know when, or if, it will arrive.
If they did post to Italy the last order date in time for Christmas would be some time around March. Hee hee,

They probably have had too much trouble with the Italian customs people and the Italian postal service to make it worth their while.
It's a start I suppose. Only trouble with post, so far, I have had is with Amazon marketplace and delays at Christmas. Otherwise, none so I really don't see why not Italy! Maybe they think we have enough out here with Zara and Bennetton! I sent them an e-mail anyway - you should too! If they know there is a market it might swing them, need more than 2 of us to write of course!
So far this year I have 2 parcels from the US, 1 from the UK and 1 from Naples go missing.... I just stock up when I go back to the UK. You can never guarantee anything will arrive.
Gil, I don't think they've ever even tried to send to Italy...
Alyson, that's a great idea 'bout sending an email.
Roma girl, I stock up when I go back, but I particularly miss it for Christmas shopping and I won't be going back now until Christmas so it'll be too late for that :(
I got a nice e-mail back, basically saying this is a trial to see how overseas shopping goes. The phrase "a few select countries" was used - apparently we aren't as select as the Phillipines.....
I wrote to M&S asking why they didn't deliver here, they have just responsed with
"We don't currently post to Italy, but I know that the Internet
Department are seeing how well our international delivery service is
being used and I know that they will then look to expand the service to
other countries.
I have logged your query with the department for them to take it into
consideration"
lets hope they do it soon !
