Were they really closed due to a robbery or was that a fake sign?
OK, I'm confused. Was that posted afterwards? Or did the ladro put it up to keep the people out while he did his business? lol
I've seen that sign more than once here in Milan! I think it's strange that they advertise the fact that they've been robbed. Maybe it's time that the chubby, chain-smoking "security guards" that hang around outside making comments about passing women actually dedicated themselves to the business of security! Or perhaps they should just get security glass installed on the counters like they do in other countries....!!
Gil, I actually took the photo on a Saturday and the bank was closed. I guess the sign had been up since at least the Friday. It's a real sign!

Emmina, it's the first sign I've seen in Naples. Proves having those security guards outside doesn't work; Or those doors which close you in the middle.
I wonder how long the bank stayed closed because of this.
Not very comforting. It's like going the hospital and seeing a sign, 'closed due to plague.'

Well at least it's a pretty good reason to close...better than, say, had to run to the farmacia or something ;)
I'm intrigued by the discussion of bank safety in the comments; we do have security glass on our counters in the banks down here (same as in the post office) and our security guards are never outside their little bubbles...I'm wondering if banks are totally different in the north or what?
Actually, we have safety glass in Naples, too, in some of the banks I've seen. But the security guards barely move out of the way to let customers in because they are so busy chatting with each other. My fiance walks with cane, and they still can't be bothered to get out of our way.
